2017 Grenache

2017 Grenache

These vines are grown on a one-acre plot near the barn on our Estate Vineyard.  This vintage has a fine mixture of complex aromas and flavors ranging from mineral and dried herb to cherry, iron and beef juices.  The color is in the natural lighter end of the garnet range, the aromas bring a wide variety of nuances, and the fruity threads weave in and out of savory ones on the palate and finish. Aged in neutral oak to highlight the varietal characteristics which lend pomegranate and raspberry fruit, fresh sage, and star anise to this elegant wine.

Amador Cellars 2017 Reserve Grenache Noir, Shenandoah Valley of California, Amador County
Fennel, oregano, and rosemary season bright notes of raspberry. Taut acidity alerts white pepper, tomato leaf, rhubarb, and orange peel to perk up the palate, which ends on an earthy note. Superb! 93 points.- Meredith May, The SOMM Journal
